Luminary

After seeing a fab luminary on Jak's blog I decided to have a go at one. I'm really pleased with how this has turned out especially as it's the first time I have attempted anything like this.
The paper is I think MME but it's from my scrap drawer so not sure, I've used a woodware border punch and added some silver ribbon form hobby craft around both the top and bottom. A little bow secured with a brad on the bottom half and 3 punched snowflakes on the top to decorate it.
The image is a digi from Di's Digi's and is printed onto Vellum and coloured with promarkers which was a little tricky and much easier on the smaller area's, so if you are going to attempt something like this don't choose an image with large areas of one colour. I've used distress stickles on the trims on his hat and a snowwriter for under his feet and the falling snow.
Below you can see it lit up with a battery tea light which I got from Wilkinson's for 50p. Aimee has already decided that this is going in her room for christmas so I guess I may be making a couple more of these.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Digi Designs Challenge Blog - Ribbon's & Bows
Crafty Ribbons - Anything But A Card
Crafty Catz Challenge - Use A Digi
Sew many Cards Challenge - Vellum
Truly Scrumptious - Bingo ( bottom row Glitter/Glimmer - Punchs/diecuts - Ribbon)
Forever Friends - Something old Something new ( new image old ribbon)
If The shoe Fits Scrap It - Try Something New (my something new is to make a luminary)
