Fan ( tache) tic Brother

Here is another card I made for Rhys's birthday in Febuary, I really have slacked this year with blogging but I starting to catch up now. Not sure what is is with moustaches but they are popping up on everything in the shops at the moment and seem to be bang on trend with the teenagers we have cushions, mugs, notepads, pens in this house all with moustaches.  This one uses this fab image from Dustin Pike which I've coloured with my promarkers. The papers are from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic and the sentiment is a computer generated one.

Joy Fold Card Tutorial

Morning today I've got a quick tutorial for you which I did for the S J crafts blog to show you how to make a Joy Fold card.

To start off with you need 2 sizes of card blanks, I've used 135mm square & 96 mm square card blank. You need to cut half of the front off of the larger card blank which you can see in the photo below.

Next you need to pretty up your card blanks I've used papers from My Minds Eye - Collectable - Memorable 6 x 6 pad. You will need to cover the fronts as well as the insides of both card blanks.

Now position the smaller card blank on top of the larger one as above and stick down.

Next you will need to attach something to the front which will act as a catch to hold the front of the smaller card shut. I've used a sentiment to hold mine closed but you could use some other kind of embellishment. I've raised my sentiment up on foam pads to allow room for the front to slide under it.

Here's my card closed up ready to decorate.  I have used some Penny Black Stickers on the front and again on the inside. The only other thing I added to mine was some self adhesive pearls.

I hope that all made sense if you have any questions please let me know and of course if you have a go at making a Joy Fold Card I would love to see it.

My Minds Eye - Collectable - Memorable

Afternoon today I've got a card to share with you that I made using some of the papers that Sarah from SJ Crafts sent me  from My Minds Eye - Collectable - Memorable 6 x 6 pad. I kept the card very simple to show off the gorgeous colours in this pad lot's of pinks / aqua / pale yellow and lime green. I cut the circles with nesties and inked the edges with distress inks just to soften them against the harsh white background  I used the following colours Antique Linen, Worn lipstick & Iced Spruce. The White has been embossed with my swiss dots folder. The image has been stamped directly onto the patterned paper and I coloured it with my promarkers. I made a rolled flower from some scraps of paper and added some self adhesive pearls to finish it all off.

Anniversary cards

I got asked to make a couple of anniversary cards for an elderly couple, I was a bit stuck as I didn't really have any suitable stamps so I decided to make good use of my punches and dies. ON this first one I have used my Martha Stewart punch anywhere on the page heart punch, which I bought because it was cheap and haven't used! The sentiment was printed on the PC before I punched the heart. The border is a Woodware punch. I added a few paper roses to finish it off with a couple of marianne swirls.

This is the second card I have used my tiny heart embossing folder on this one and added a die cut heart on top of some organza ribbon.

I have used this cute image from our sponsors Milk Coffee called Charlotte & butterfly. I used a graphic program to separate the to images so I could insert my sentiment between them and then used the out of the box technique to cut a circle with my nesties with the butterfly flying out the circle one side and charlotte standing off the circle the other side. I coloured the image with my promarkers and added some sparkle with some stickles. My papers are from a gorgeous pad I received from the lovely Sarah at S J Crafts this weekend and are from MME Collectable range called Memorable.

Patchwork Card

Good morning the sun is finally shining here  and it's starting to feel a bit more spring like. For toda's card I've used a cute stamp from Lilli of the Valley which I have had un inked in my stamp box for a while, I coloured the image with my promarkers and used chalk for the sky and the grass. The papers are from a First Edition pad that I've been hording because they are to pretty to cut and I added faux stitching with a fine line pen.
The flowers were all white/cream to start with I coloured the smaller completely and added colour to the edge of the larger ones with my promarkers.

A little peek so you can see I've decorated the inside of the card to match.

Bizarre, Wacky and Unique Holidays at Incy Wincy

Good morning time for another challenge at Incy Wincy
this week our challenge is
' Bizarre, Wacky and Unique Holidays  '
and we are sponsored by the fab
Bit of a different challenge from us this week but this one was such fun
No birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc. It MUST be a funny holiday taken from this website Funny Holidays site. Eg. May is National BBQ month; June is Dairy Month & Candy Month, plus the 1st week is fishing week......just to name a few!!!! There are some pretty funny ones!!!!
I made this card for my sons birthday back in Febuary and based it  12th April - Big Wind Day perfect for my son as like most teenage boys he finds farts funny!!

The paper is from an old echo park pad I think and I coloured the image with my promarkers and then covered the  jar in glossy accents to give it a glass look. I rounded the corners on opposite corners to add some interest.
