S J Crafts Sketch

Today we have a new challenge over at S J Crafts. Jennifer has drawn us up a sketch to play with, now although it's more of a scrapbooking sketch I have managed to make a card with it ( at least I hope you can see the sketch in my card!).

In a few weeks it is my darling hubby's 40th birthday so this card is for one of the kids to give to him, now 2 of his favourite things are dragons and superheros so this fab digi set from Dustin Pike was the perfect choice for him I have used the coloured images this time round although it does come with black & white images as well. I printed all the images of onto photo paper several times and then fussy cut them and layered them up. The DP is from MME Cut & Paste Flair pad I've embossed lots of the card stock with 2 different star embossing folders. For embellishments I've die cut some stars out of mirror card and added a couple of Basic Grey Candy Buttons in red. The sentiment is a computer generated one which I fussy cut and then popped up on foam pads. The 40 is form an old set of alpha stickers which I coloured to match with my promarkers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Fan ( tache) tic Brother

Here is another card I made for Rhys's birthday in Febuary, I really have slacked this year with blogging but I starting to catch up now. Not sure what is is with moustaches but they are popping up on everything in the shops at the moment and seem to be bang on trend with the teenagers we have cushions, mugs, notepads, pens in this house all with moustaches.  This one uses this fab image from Dustin Pike which I've coloured with my promarkers. The papers are from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic and the sentiment is a computer generated one.

Bizarre, Wacky and Unique Holidays at Incy Wincy

Good morning time for another challenge at Incy Wincy
this week our challenge is
' Bizarre, Wacky and Unique Holidays  '
and we are sponsored by the fab
Bit of a different challenge from us this week but this one was such fun
No birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc. It MUST be a funny holiday taken from this website Funny Holidays site. Eg. May is National BBQ month; June is Dairy Month & Candy Month, plus the 1st week is fishing week......just to name a few!!!! There are some pretty funny ones!!!!
I made this card for my sons birthday back in Febuary and based it  12th April - Big Wind Day perfect for my son as like most teenage boys he finds farts funny!!

The paper is from an old echo park pad I think and I coloured the image with my promarkers and then covered the  jar in glossy accents to give it a glass look. I rounded the corners on opposite corners to add some interest.

Love is in the air at Incy Wincy

Good morning time for another challenge at Incy Wincy
this week our challenge is
' Love is in the air '
and we are sponsored by the fab
Now it's no secret that I like dragons so this sponsor is perfect for me I love Dustin's cute dragons this one is from a valentine trio pack. I have coloured him with promarkers and added some glossy accents onto the heart. I decided to go for a CAS style card so used my nesties to cut some circles out. The circle behind the dragon has been embossed with my tiny heart folder. I've inked the edges of the circles  to give a little bit of depth. I've drawn a squiggle frame around the edge of the card and stamped the sentiment in rich cocoa memento ink.

Birthday Dragon

Another dragon birthday card for you today using another fab image from Dustin Pike. The papers are Dovecraft Back To Basics 2.

Here's a close up of the image, I used my promarkers and flexmarkers to colour him. I printed 2 copies of the image and decoupaged the dragon so he stood out from the pile of presents behind him. I covered the balloon with glossy accents and attached a piece of bakers twine for the string.

Flying Dragon

Here's another of Mark's Birthday cards with another dragon from Dustin Pike. Not much to say about this card as I keep it quite simple as I thought the image would look better being a bit bigger than usual and I really liked the pattern on the paper and wanted to let that show. The DP is again from Echo Parks A Boys Life  really loving these papers for male cards not many left now though.

The dragon is coloured with a mix of promarkers and flexmarkers loving the pale colours you get with the flexmarkers. Sentiment and card candy both from Craftwork Cards.

Cupcake Dragon

It's Birthday week in our house this week with Shannon turning 15 on Monday and Mark's birthday on Thursday and then my stepsister's birthday at the weekend so I have been busy making cards for them all this week oh to be more organised. Sorry about the snoopy picture at the top but as my blog posts to facebook I don't want them seeing their cards before their birthdays so hopefully this way it will just post snoopy on my facebook page.

This card is the first of the one's for Mark I have used this cute dragon from Dustin Pike. The papers are Echo Park It's A Boys Life I kept it quite simple as the paper was busy and matted & layered it with grey card. I simpley embellished the card with a couple of green buttons which are from Crafty Ribbons.
I've coloured the image with promarkers & flexmarkers adding some snow writer to the frosting on the cupcake.
Promarkers used - meadow green, leaf green, bright green, forest green, lemon, yellow, sunflower, poppy, crimson, glacier blue (f), celestial blue (f).

Better late than never

Oh dear I'm late for this weeks Incy Wincy Challenge  which started on Monday my excuse well I coudn't get to my craft desk to get this card finished we have been decorating the older 2 kids bedrooms. They decided to swap bedrooms so we did 2 bedrooms in 4 days and I have to say they both look fab, Rhys went for lime green and silver grey walls and Shannon choose some wallpaper which is black with duck egg blue flowers on one wall and duck egg blue paint on the others. Back to this weeks challenge, we are being sponsored by the fantastic Dustin Pike, who is offering the winner a $10 gift card for his store, Doodle Dragon Studios

This weeks challenge is a sketch which our very own Heather has designed for you.

I've used this fab space themed cupcake from Dustin Pike coloured with promarkers and I've used Woodware Fluffy Stuff for the smoke coming out of the rocket. the rocket has been heat embossed with clear powder for a shiny look. The paper is another out of the fab grab box I got from SJ Crafts and the silver ric rac came from Crafty Ribbons.
I must just add sorry the poor quality photo's but the batteries had run out in the camera and nobody had thought to charge another set so I had to use my phone to take the pics.

Pop Up Card

Before we wnt on holiday I was working extra hours at work which ment I couldn't pick Aimee up from school so Shannon & Rhys picked her up for me on their way home from school, I wanted to show them how grateful I was so I made them both a card to say Thank You, this one was for Rhys.
I followed this tutorial at Splitcoasters to make a free standing pop up card, it was really easy to follow the tutorial and I'm pleased with the results if I was to make one again I think I would cut the slit a bit larger as it doesn't pull quite as smoothly as I would like. The image is a pre coloured freebie from Dustin Pike, I've just added the sentiment on the computer.
