My Christmas Notebook

Every year at Christmas time I have a little notebook in which I keep a record of all the presents I have bought so I don't forget anyone or more likely buy another present when I've already got one squirrelled away for them. This year I thought I would make myself a pretty one so I set about altering this notebook.

It was a pretty bog standard spiral bound notebook, which I think it cost less than a £1 when I bought it. I started off by levering the spiral open to remove the covers.

I used a promarker to do this so I didn't bend the spiral out of shape.

I have covered the front and the back with kraft card and then added a panel to the front using papers from Teresa Collins Santa's list pad. I've cut an aperture in the paper and put my image behind the hole. I have used another of the cute penguins from Angels Landing stamps coloured with my promarkers. I have heat embossed the silver on his hat and scarf and given him some stickles snow to stand on. For the finishing touches I  added some red twine and punched snowflakes with red gems to and tied a variety of ribbons to the spiral bound once it was back in place to pretty it up.

On the inside of the back cover I have added a pocked cut out of kraft card so that I can add any receipts I wish to keep. I cut the shape out if the top using one of my nesties shapes.

I would like to enter my notebook into the following challenges:

6th 0n The Sixth

It's time for 6 cards on the sixth again at S J Crafts ( well I'm a couple of days late but don't worry you have all month to link up). For my six cards this month I bought a new set of digital stamps from Angels Landing and used those to base my 6 cards around and then decided to do 3 in blue tones and the other 3 in more traditional red & green. The papers were all from a Dovecraft Back to Basics pack that I bought half price in January. All the images are coloured with my promarkers and I've used stickles for the sparkle.
For the first two cards I've added flat backed gems to this one and a papermania sentiment. The border is punched with my fiskers scalloped lace punch.

The next two cards I've printed the images twice to layer them up and add a bit of dimension. The snowflake is punched with a woodware punch.

For my last two cards I have cut an aperture in the front of the card with my nesties and the image is actually on the inside of the card. The snowflake border is a diecut to which I've added gems and the sentiment is again a papermania one.

I hope that you will link up with us this month don't forget that if you join in with you are in with the chance to win a pizza box full of stash.
