Colouring with Distress Inks

Now a few months ago I only has 2 distress inks pads, today I have 13, seems they have become a staple item to my crafting. I know I'm a little behind the times but they frightened me I saw all the amazing results other people got with them and thought there was no way I could do the same but slowly I have gained more confidence with them and now use them on most of my cards
I bought this stamp with some birthday money and thought I would have a go at colouring it with my distress inks. I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa onto some Kraft card.

I used a water brush and a piece of laminated card ( or if you have one a craft sheet), I pressed the ink pad onto the laminated card and then used my water brush to put some water onto the ink and started to colour. I've found it best to start off pale as you can always add more colour, the more water the paler the colour. For this image I used the following distress ink colours Iced Spruce, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Weathered Wood, Brushed Corduroy & Festive Berries

Here's the finished card I have inked the edges of the Kraft using the blending tool with Brushed Corduroy ( it doesn't look so dark in real life) and then simply mounted it onto some dark brown card, stamped Happy Birthday in Memento and stapled a piece of jute across the card.

Halloween ATC's

Another quick post from me as I have so much to catch up on this time some halloween ATC's that I made fro a swap on facebook.
Image is from Sampfairy , paper is from a digi pack from Rieka_Rafita and the word art is from Jak Heath. I've added some crackle accents around the edges and on the wordart.

Image is from Dustin Pike covered in black glitter glue and glossy accents, papers are digi ones from Bearly Mine and I've added crackle accents to the edges again.

Not sure where this image is from reminds me of a Meljen's digi, the paper is the same as above from Bearly Mine and the word art is anothe of Jak Heaths freebies. I covered the spider with glossy accents and used black glitter glue on the web and crackle accents arounf the edges.

Birthdays At S J Crafts

Time for a new challenge at S J Crafts and this month Sarah has choosen
Birthday's with the added extra of either circles or ovals.
No I have taken the circle them to the extreme and used a circular card blank, paper with spot's ( there circular right?) Cut a circular frame and made flowers from circles. I have used this pretty fairy from Wee Stamps again bus she is just so sweet and a dream to colour. I've used promarkers to colour her and lots of stickles to give her wings some fairy sparkle. Around the edge of the image I think you can just see I used Tattered Rose distress inks to give a pink glow.
I made my flowers by cutting circles out with my dies  and scrunching them up. Once opened back up I used 4 circles for each flower and pined them together with some brads. The DP on the card and the flowers is from MME Nostalgia pad ( Which Sarah has in the shop for a bargin price of only £4 I love this pad and it is perfect for both male and female cards have a look at my post here)
A sideways shot to show you the inside s decorated to more circles !! Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see the gorgeous pages the other girls made  for the challenge blog and if you haven't visited Sarahs shop for a while go and have a look lots of new goodies and a few changes to the website including a email me when it's back in stock service which is great for those things you need! that are out of stock at the moment.

I've used a pre coloured Kenny K image for this football card, the football papers are scraps left over from the football card I made a few weeks ago, they are from an old papermania pad. I've embossed the white card on my cuttlebug and added a Craftwork cards sentiment and a few red card candy.

Anything Goes at Incy Wincy

This weeks challenge at Incy Wincy is
Anything Goes
and we are sponsored by
I have used this cute panda from them, I love the fact that most of there digi's come with a background and a pre coloured image which really helps when your in a rush. I've used the pre coloured verion and the background on my card, I printed several copies of the panda so I could decoupage him. I kept the rest of the card really simple so I could show off the cute image, and just embossed the panel on the front and added some flat backed pearls and a couple of little flowers. The sentiment is from craftwork cards an is hel in place with a brad.

You can see the decoupage layers in this photo and also a glimpse of the inside.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet N Sassy - Tic Tac Toe (flowers / diecuts/ brads)
Totally Papercrafts - Let's see those shapes
