I used a daisy embossing folder to add texture  to my background. I tied a piece of ribbon around the card which I have coloured with my pens and added a small butterfly charm. The sentiment is a rub on.

Totally Gorjuss - manly

Well I've been a bad DT member ( due to being so ill before christmas and only just catching up now) I haven't taken part in many of the challenges over at Totally Gorjuss since they asked me to be on the DT. This card is late (only a day I'm getting more organised) as I forgot to take a photo of it in time to go on the DT blog but thought I would post it here and link up to them.
So this weeks challenge at Totally Gorjuss is Manly a theme that was not very popular on the DT, I quite like making male cards so think I must be odd!! Our sponsor this week is
I have used this fab image from Digi Stamp Boutique called Golf Alf whcih I coloured with promarkers. the papers are from a paper cellar pad which I've teamed with kraft card. I added a little tag of the patterned paper held together with an eyelet as embellishment on the top of the image. The sentiment is stamped in cocoa memento straight on to the DP.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Mum Card

Something a little bit different from me today not a promarker in sight!! I can remember seeing this style of card on a blog a long time ago but have no idea what it would be called. I have cut a panel out of a standard 6 x 6 card blank and stuck the letters over the gap. I have used papers from MME Cut Paste Flair pad teamed with some black card I love how the soft colours really stand out against the black. I used the word art function in word to create the letters and numbers printing them onto normal card which I then cut out and stuck onto my patterned paper, you need to use quite thick card to give the card front some strength. I have put stickles all around the edges of the letters and numbers to finish them off. I used my fiskers scalloped lace border punch for the bottom edge.

This gorgeous flower has been cut with Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die from some of the pink ombre paper in the pad I love the way this has allowed me to cut the flowers all from the same sheet but with the differing shades. I have used a Basic Grey Candy Button to the centre of the flower and gone round all the edges with stardust stickles.

Here's a view of the card slightly open, you can just about see another sheet of that gorgeous ombre paper this time in an aqua green shade.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafting By Designs - Birthdays
Lothian Crafts - Female Birthday  using dies

Well good morning and a Happy Year if there is still anyone out there I back after a very long break feeling much better thankfully and raring to go. Today's post is for Incy Wincy where our challenge is to use your 3 favourite embellishments we have 2 fantastic sponsors this week Digital Delights and QKR Stampede whose image I have used.
I've kept my card quite simple today so the fab image shines through, I haven't coloured the image at all just printed it straight onto a textured cream paper, the paper has a slight blue fleck to it. The papers are from MME Lost & Found Oliver pad and the sentiment is a new stamp I bought from Stamping All Day who have a fab selection of sentiment stamps all individual so you don't have to buy a whole set just for the one you wanted and there customer service is great my stamps arrived within 2 days even though it was between Christmas & New Year. For my 3 embellishments I've used tiny brads, ribbon and eyelets.

Altered Diary

Today I have an altered diary to show you I started off with this very plain and boring black diary which I bought for a £1 and this is what I turned it into.....

I made this diary for my DD Shannon who has a thing about all things nerdy and as soon as I saw this glasses paper I knew I wanted to use it for something for her having recently started work she needs a diary to write her shifts down in. I started off with sheet of kraft card which I cover the whole diary with. I then matted the glasses paper which comes from MME Cut Paste Flair pad onto a piece of black card. I have used some Basic Grey Candy Buttons in the corners to add a little bit of interest to them.

The glasses are from a necklace which I took apart I have used a set of numbers from an old set of Alpha's which I had tucked away. I stuck the glasses down with glossy accents and then filled the lenses with it to give them a more realistic appearance. I added a couple of flat backed gems to the corners for a little bit of sparkle.

I would like to enter my diary into the following challenges:
Crazy For Challenges - Let's Frame It ( Hope the glasses count as a frame)
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything but a card
4 Crafty Chicks - Anything but a card
Craft My Life - Anything goes but no cards

Remember

This weeks challenge at  Totally Gorjuss is Remember, as soon as I saw this theme it made me think of Poppies with it being November so I set about make a poppy from ribbon, I followed the instructions on here apart from my red ribbon was 40 mm wide and I didn't have any black ribbon wide enough so I place a button inside the black ribbon I had and sewed around it. Other than that I kept the card nice and simple with just a couple of green swirls and an embossed background so the poppy stood out.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Remembrance Sunday/ Thinking of You
Crafting With Dragonflies - Make Your Own Flowers
Stamp & Doodle - Rememberance

Six On The 6th

Wow can you believe another month has gone past and it's time for S J Crafts series Six on the 6th the idea being that every month you join in and make 6 Christmas cards so that when it's gets to Christmas it's not so much of a rush, having counted my cards the other day I have almost 30 ready which is good for me. This month I decided to stray away from the normal (for me) cards with DP and a coloured stamped image, I have heat embossed a background stamp using Versamark ink and silver sparkle embossing powder and then inked all over it with Festive Berry Distress ink.
The back ground stamps are both from Visible image, the sparkly silver ribbon is from my local haberdashery shop. In the card above I have tied a double bow and added some tiny jingle bells and a sentiment and the one below I have cut a snowflake with my spellbinders die adding a hero arts red gem to centre.

I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges:
Visible Image - Make It Sparkle
Fab N Funky - Traditional Christmas Colours
Holly Jolly Christmas - Traditional Colours (sort of)
