Stitching Real or Faux at Totally Gorjuss

Good morning it's time for a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss where this week we want to see stitching, real or faux on your projects. I've made a set of ATC's this week which are also for this months swap on face book where the theme was blossom and added some faux stitching around the edge of each ATC. I used this gorgeous digi stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique which I coloured with my promarkers. I printed the image of twice so I could pop of the flowers to give the ATC a bit more depth. The edges of the image and the DP ( Dovecraft back to basics 3)  have been inked with Antique Distress Ink.

Aimee's home work for last term was to create a piece of Artwork in a different style so I suggested she could make an ATC. The lovely ladies at the swap agreed that she could join in this month so she made her own set to send off which you can see below. Her teacher was so impressed with her homework she ask Aimee to teach the art lesson for her and show the class how to make them,as she had never heard of ATC's before.

Aimee used a bare tree and grass digi stamp from Birds Cards. She coloured the grass with a fine liner and the sky with chalks. She punched the flowers from Dovecraft back to basics 3 paper using a Woodware punch and put a sticky back pearl in the centre of each flower.

I would like to enter my ATC's into the following challenges:
Craftitude - Anything Goes or Pop It Up
Paper Crafting Journey - Perfect in Pink

Pop Up Box Card No 1

I've been admiring all the pop up box cards that have been appearing on blogs lately and though I would have a go at one for my step Mum's birthday which is today. I search for a tutorial most of the ones I found called for 12 x12 card which i don't have much of but I found this one which uses A4 card.

The papers are Dovecraft Back to Basics 3, I inked all the edges with distress ink. The flowers are cut from the same paper with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, the butterflys are a Martha Stewart punch which I have then run through the cuttlebug with divine swirls embossing folder and the green swirls are an old sizzix die. The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat which I printed and cut with my nesties.

If you haven't tried making one of these yet give it a go I was surprised at how quick they were I managed to make two in one evening normally I'm lucky to finish one card in an evening as I dither around so much.

Anniversary Card

Today's card is one I made for my hubby for our wedding anniversary which was earlier in the month, 19 years this year! I've used this cute dragon digi from Bugaboo stamps and coloured him with my promarkers. I used Studio Calico Chevron Mask which I got in the sale at S J Crafts with my black distress ink to create the background first time I have tried a mask and I'm pleased with the results. I added some white alphas at the bottom which I coloured black, I covered these and the hearts with glossy accents to make them stand out.

is
  Upcycle a Paper Bag
and we are sponsored by
I found this a bit tricky as we don't really get many paper bags so I had to go and buy some after a quick search of eBay I found 10 of these white paper bags for £1.60 posted. I used the piece of Teresa Collins paper that I had left over from my mothers day project, mounted onto some pink card. I cut a frame using spellbinders fameabilities from the same pink and backed it with some textured paper.

The cute image is from our sponsor I coloured her with promarkers and added diamond stickles to the sparkly bits. I coloured lots of white paper flowers up to match the colours in the paper. I fixed the larger ones together with pearl brads and the smaller ones have a punched splat and a sticky flat backed pearl. to finish it off I cut some swirls from grey card and added the around the flowers.

As it's Saturday its time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss where this week we want to see you use lace on your project, it can be real lace or a lacy diecut / paper. I've been playing with my distress ink this week and decided to alter a beer mat / coaster.  I used peeled paint, dusty concord, milled lavender and iced spuce distress inks and a white ink pad along with retro dots and grunge flourish stamps from visible image to create the background. The flowers were cut from another piece of inked paper using the tattered florals die.

The sentiment is from a set at Pink Petticoat called Simple Sentiments once I had printed it out and cut it into a banner shape I inked it with iced spruce.
The flowers were cut from another piece of inked paper using the tattered florals die. Don't Be Square at Totally Gorjuss

I'm back to tell you about the new challenge at Totally Gorjuss which this week is Don't Be Square and we are sponsored by Crafters Companion. This card was for an order where the customer want a 007 inspired card. I have seen a few of these type of cards on the internet but struggled to find a template so I made one out of paper first so I could get the dimensions right.

Here's a picture of the inside so you can see the waistcoat, I used brads on this instead of more buttons. The bow tie is made from a piece of ribbon. and if you look carefully you can see I used velcro to hold the suit jacket closed.

I added some white paper to the back to give a space to write on.

S J Crafts May Challenge

Today saw the start of the May challenge at S J Crafts. This month Sarah has drawn up a bingo board for us to play with, you need to select 3 boxes from the grid in a line (horizontal/vertical or diagonal) and include the items or technique in those 3 boxes on your project

For my card I decide to use the top row Ink/Mist - Border Punch - Circle(s). I started with a circular card blank which I covered with Kraft card, I cut a circle of pale blue card and stamped onto this with my Visible Image Retro Dots stamp using Weathered Wood Distress Ink and a White Versamark ink pad. I cut two strips of card with a Fiskers Threading Water border punch. The cute fish image is from Meljen's Designs as is the background stamp, both have been coloured with promarkers. I added Glossy Accents to the bubbles in the water and some stickles to the swirls in the image.
