Sentiment As The Main Focus at Totally Gorjuss

Today's challenge at Totally Gorjuss is to use a sentiment as the main focus on your card and we are sponsored this week by Crafters Companion.
I don't often make cards with a large sentiment so this was a bit different for me I didn't have any suitable sentiment stamps that I wanted to use so went hunting for one I found a lovely set from Pink Petticoat called Simple Sentiments  which at the moment are a bargain at only a £1 ( in fact everything in the store is a £1 at the moment so I treated myself to a couple of sets of papers well it would have been rude not to.) My papers are also from Pink Petticoat and are the French Script ones.  The flower is cut with Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and the butterfly an x cut punch. I have inked all the edges with weather wood distress ink .

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafting Musketeers - Butterflies
Feeling Crafty - Dies and or Punches
Crafty Hands - Shades of the same colour

Blue, Flowers and a Dog

Many of you will know that I having a standing order with a local rest home to make birthday cards for all the residents, I always try to find out what sort of things each person likes and try to tailor the cards to the person. For this card I was told the lady like the colour blue, flowers and dogs not sure they expected to get all 3 but I managed to find this cute image from Robyn Fetish which I teamed with some blue papers and flowers. I coloured the image with my promarkers adding some stickles to the centre of the flowers. The papers are from an old Papermania pad that I dug out from the bottom of my drawer.

I seem to be having a bit of a run with my paper flowers probably because I haven't put the jar away. They started life as boring cream coloured flowers which I have coloured with my promarkers adding a card candy to the centre of each one again these were white to start with, I coloured them and then added stickles on top.

Birthday Androids

Boy - teenage boy cards are hard I seem to have spent most of the last few weeks making male cards I'll be glad to get some pretty papers out again soon. This card is for my son who was 15 on Monday. I found this cute android font on Da fonts and thought it would make a great card with the addition of googly eyes. I simply printed his name onto lime green card and stuck eyes on each of the android. The black piece of card behind the name has been embossed with my In stitches embossing folder and I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

S J Crafts Sketch

Today we have a new challenge over at S J Crafts. Jennifer has drawn us up a sketch to play with, now although it's more of a scrapbooking sketch I have managed to make a card with it ( at least I hope you can see the sketch in my card!).

In a few weeks it is my darling hubby's 40th birthday so this card is for one of the kids to give to him, now 2 of his favourite things are dragons and superheros so this fab digi set from Dustin Pike was the perfect choice for him I have used the coloured images this time round although it does come with black & white images as well. I printed all the images of onto photo paper several times and then fussy cut them and layered them up. The DP is from MME Cut & Paste Flair pad I've embossed lots of the card stock with 2 different star embossing folders. For embellishments I've die cut some stars out of mirror card and added a couple of Basic Grey Candy Buttons in red. The sentiment is a computer generated one which I fussy cut and then popped up on foam pads. The 40 is form an old set of alpha stickers which I coloured to match with my promarkers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Seize The Birthday - Birthdays & Chevrons

Sunny Colours at Totally Gorjuss

It's Saturday again which means it's time for a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss ( sorry this post is a little late but I have a poorly little girl here today who needs lots of mummy cuddles). Our challenge this week is Sunny Colours and we are sponsored by Ribbon Girl. Sorry my photo looks a little washed out unfortunately the weather didn't want to play ball and it was very dismal and grey when I tried to take the photo and this was the best of a bad bunch. This week I have dug out an old Anya stamp and coloured her up with yellow and grey promarkers to match my papers which are digi ones from Pink Petticoat. The ribbons are from my stash and the thin one I have coloured with promarkers and in real life the colour matches perfectly. Again the flowers have been coloured with promarkers and are not as bright in real life.
Lets hope we get to see some sunshine here in the UK soon as I for one am fed up with all the rain we have been having.

Totally Gorjuss - manly

Well I've been a bad DT member ( due to being so ill before christmas and only just catching up now) I haven't taken part in many of the challenges over at Totally Gorjuss since they asked me to be on the DT. This card is late (only a day I'm getting more organised) as I forgot to take a photo of it in time to go on the DT blog but thought I would post it here and link up to them.
So this weeks challenge at Totally Gorjuss is Manly a theme that was not very popular on the DT, I quite like making male cards so think I must be odd!! Our sponsor this week is
I have used this fab image from Digi Stamp Boutique called Golf Alf whcih I coloured with promarkers. the papers are from a paper cellar pad which I've teamed with kraft card. I added a little tag of the patterned paper held together with an eyelet as embellishment on the top of the image. The sentiment is stamped in cocoa memento straight on to the DP.

Mum Card

Something a little bit different from me today not a promarker in sight!! I can remember seeing this style of card on a blog a long time ago but have no idea what it would be called. I have cut a panel out of a standard 6 x 6 card blank and stuck the letters over the gap. I have used papers from MME Cut Paste Flair pad teamed with some black card I love how the soft colours really stand out against the black. I used the word art function in word to create the letters and numbers printing them onto normal card which I then cut out and stuck onto my patterned paper, you need to use quite thick card to give the card front some strength. I have put stickles all around the edges of the letters and numbers to finish them off. I used my fiskers scalloped lace border punch for the bottom edge.

This gorgeous flower has been cut with Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die from some of the pink ombre paper in the pad I love the way this has allowed me to cut the flowers all from the same sheet but with the differing shades. I have used a Basic Grey Candy Button to the centre of the flower and gone round all the edges with stardust stickles.

Here's a view of the card slightly open, you can just about see another sheet of that gorgeous ombre paper this time in an aqua green shade.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafting By Designs - Birthdays
Lothian Crafts - Female Birthday  using dies
