Button challenge at Crafty Ribbons

I was lucky enough to be picked for the last challenge at Crafty Ribbons blog, this time round we had to use one of the new button boxes for our challenge pieces, I chose the Tutti Frutti colour range. What can I say apart from wow what a great way to buy buttons you get a great range of sizes and styles in each box and the colours all coordinate perfectly with each other.
For my first project I decided to make a clock with buttons instead of numbers. This clock is made from an old cd the hands and mechanisms were bought from ebay. The paper is from DCWV and I have simply stuckk the buttons onto the paper where the numbers should be.

For my second project I decided to make a button hairband. With a length of elastic I measured around Aimee's head to get the right size sewed it together to make a circle, then I cut some flowers out of felt I used my Tim Holtz tattered flowers die for this and layered them up with a button for the centre of the flower. I then positioned the flower slightly to one side of the elastic circle and sewed it on. Next I sewed some buttons around the elastic so they went down tojust below Aimee's ears.
Here's a photo of Aimee wearing the hairband and her new dress that I made for her over Easter, the colours in the fabric match perfectly with the colours of the buttons.
Another photo of my little model thisis the one I made for her to keep.
And last photo this is the one I sent of to Ali at Crafty Ribbons basicly the same design just slightly more pastel colours.
I have to say even after making these projects I still have loads of buttons left over.

Wedding Card

Shannon's friend Mum & Dad got married on Saturday and she was invited to the wedding so I rustled her up a quick card to take with her on Friday night, nothing like leaving it to the last minute! I keep it simple with just white pearlised card , an embossing folder and a doily die plus a few pearls.

I love the look of an easel card but find them very hard to take a decent photo of, this one was even worse as it was all white.

Card Recipe ~
Cardstock - White pearlised from The Range
Image - Pollycraft - Cuthbert & Kikki - Wedding
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Pearls - Ebay
Ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
Tools - Corner chomper, Cuttlebug, Doily Die, Divine Swirls embossing folder

Pop Up Card

Before we wnt on holiday I was working extra hours at work which ment I couldn't pick Aimee up from school so Shannon & Rhys picked her up for me on their way home from school, I wanted to show them how grateful I was so I made them both a card to say Thank You, this one was for Rhys.
I followed this tutorial at Splitcoasters to make a free standing pop up card, it was really easy to follow the tutorial and I'm pleased with the results if I was to make one again I think I would cut the slit a bit larger as it doesn't pull quite as smoothly as I would like. The image is a pre coloured freebie from Dustin Pike, I've just added the sentiment on the computer.
Card Recipe ~

Cardstock - Bazzill, silver mirror card from The Range
Ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
Tools - Fiskers star punch

Moveable parts at Creative Craft Challenge

Time for another challenge at Creative Craft Challenges this time we want you to make something with movable parts. We have some great sponsors lined up for you this week first up is Stitchy Bear Stamps with a prize of some digi's for our winner.

Next we have B-Craft-E who are offering the winner  a template paper pack

And last but not least we have Crafty Individuals who are offing a stamp to our winner.

For my card I have used this fab image called Goth Angel by Bearydust who you can find at Stitchy Bear Stamps. I haven't done much with the image just coloured the dots on her wings and shoes with a purple promarker and then used a sakura pen to add some glitter to them. Then I cut her out and mounted her on some grungy looking spotty paper, added a sentiment from Papermania and some black dew drops.
This is a close up of the movable part of my card I used the instructions here to make a spinner card, so easy I can't believe this is the first time I have made one. Basically I have cut a slit in the DP and then layered a penny, a foam pad, a penny, a foam pad and then my embellishment which in this case is a flower. the first penny goes behind the DP and the second penny on top of the DP so that they roll along the slit you have made. My flower is made from a coke can cut with my Tim Holtz Tattered Flower die and finished with a black gem brad.

Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog for some more inspiration from the DT girls.

Tic Tac Toe at Incy Wincy

This weeks challenge at Incy Wincy is Tic Tac Toe So, how this works is, you have to choose 3 things in a row (like Tic Tac Toe) either across, down or diagonal. For example, on my "card", I chose the bottom row Stickles or glitter, Tags, Something green. Hope that makes sense!!!

We have a fab sponsor this week Digi Doodle Shop who are offering the winner a $10 gift certificate

On my card I have used the image called Louis & Flowers which you can find here. I have kept this card very clean & simple the image is coloured with promarkers, the matts under the image are cut with my nesties and I have embossed the white layer with a daisy embossing folder and then added stickles to the daisies which you can see better in the photo below. The ribbon is some I won ages ago from Crafty Ribbons and then the tag is punched and I have stamped a thanks sentiment on it.
