My post today is part of a blog hop for my DT teammate Jennifer's Onwards & Upwards blog event that she is hosting this weekend over on her blog this is what she has to say about the event -
The ‘Onwards and Upwards’ weekend will take place right here on Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May 2013. Posts will go live every hour from 4pm – 10pm Friday, and then 10am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday (BST), with a mix of giveaways, tutorials, challenges, inspiration, a blog hop, and more! The event graphics above show you a glimpse at some of the projects that will be featured, and the prizes that will be given away. But there will be more, lots more!
The theme for the weekend is loosely inspired by my word of the year ‘Progress’ (see my word of the year layout here). However, ‘Onwards and Upwards’ is about all kinds of things, including: hopes and dreams, resolutions and goals, uplifting quotes and sentiments, travel, trying new things, positive reinforcements, finding direction, or just looking to the skies for subject matter or embellishments (clouds, planes, birds, hot air balloons, and more)!
I have made a little altered beer mat (coaster), I've covered it in papers form MME Paris & Co pad and then inked the edges with Iced Spruce Distress Ink. I stamped some swirls with the same ink to give the edges some interest. I've printed off one of my favourite quotes onto some matching DP and distressed the edges and then painted them with distress stickles. Finally I added a die cut heart to the corner.
If your already following the hop you should have arrived here from Jo.B. If our not what are you waiting for head over to Jennifer's blog to start the hop from the beginning.
Have a look at the fab prize you could win by leaving a comment on all the blogs in the hop,
finishing at www.jennifergracecreates.com to let Jennifer know you've been all
the way around, then you'll be in with a chance to win a prize pack of cheerful
Glitz Designs Color Me Happy and
Simple Stories 24/7, worth over £25! All entries must be received by
Monday the 13th of May at 10.59pm BST.
Your next stop along the hop is...

That is one of fave quotes. If I remember rightly it's Dr Seuss? Well whoever I LOVE it and your coaster,
